![]() Now ‘Embrace The Layover’ always has and will be a blog where I share my experiences with the rest of the world. He has done an excellent job of capturing some of my best shots for my website. For my promotional shoots in Miami, I work with a dear friend of mine called Larry Ruiz, who has been with me since the beginning. It’s a symbol of the purest thing in life, freedom. My clothing represents a way of life, something that runs much deeper than an ordinary clothing item. I took my travel experiences and transformed them into t-shirts, tank tops, jerseys. ‘Japan Inspired’ ETL Tee’s where the first of its kind. The next thing you know, I came out with specific collections that were inspired by my travels. I found new associates who helped me push my brand to the next level. Despite all the struggle, I was happy doing something I was loving. There was a huge learning curve that I did not anticipate. Poor choices in business partners, the wrong kind of inventory was acquired. ![]() So, I started with just two t-shirt designs and hats. I wanted my vision to translate from a website onto merchandise. In early 2018 I decided to expand ETL from merely being a blog to a clothing brand. It was a haven for the people who were in need of vulnerable ideas that lined up with their own. Still, being made fun of for having an accent was never pleasant. ‘Embrace The Layover’ was first a blog before anything else. But writing was something I was somehow naturally gifted with. I moved to the states when I was 16 years old and I didn’t really know much English. The writing was a way for me to cope with it all.Īs time went on, my writing got better and better, which some may think is ironic because if you look back only a few years, there I was, getting made fun of in high school for having a super strong accent. I left it all on those pages - my heartbreak, disappointment, grief, motivation, encouragement. It was when the time would simply standstill, and nothing else mattered except the thoughts that were running through my mind. I often traveled and therefore shared my experiences with the world. Stuff that I had experienced and lessons many people could learn from. My articles were about motivation, encouragement, and romance. Back then, it wasn’t as clear to me as it is now, but still, I knew even then that I could help some people out with my words. I knew then that I had a message to share. For the people who have a fire insight of them. ![]() ![]() It started as a blog for people who shared the same vision as me. I love traveling, and I knew I wanted to share my passion and lust for life with the world. So I came up with ‘Embrace The Layover’ during my layover. I didn’t want to live my life, wondering ‘what if’ and spending all my years making someone else’s dreams come true. I wanted more from my life I wanted to create something that I could be proud of. Despite being free, I also felt incredibly lost. So there I was, 23 years old with nothing holding me back. I quit a job that I was desperately trying to leave for a very long time. ![]() At the time, I had just gotten out of a long-term relationship and I was extremely broken up about it. I was on my way to Germany to visit my family. ‘Embrace The Layover’ first came to life in 2016 when I was on a layover in Charlotte, North Carolina.
